The principal objective of this program is to promote and facilitate constructive dialogue and interaction between youth and public officials who are responsible for administering our local city, county and school government.
The Learning Network of Clinton County was granted $10,600 from the Institute for Mexicans Abroad Scholarship (IME Becas). The IME Scholarship Fund encourages the educational success of Mexican-origin and Latino students in Clinton County.
In March of 2016, the Learning Network of Clinton County became the recipient of a $5,000 scholarship though the IME-Becas program; a program funded by the Mexican government to assist students of Mexican descent who wish to further their education in the United States. The IME Becas Scholarship Program funds Adult education programs including financial support for Mexican or Mexican origin adult students to enroll in basic literacy programs, Elementary and Junior High, TASC (previously known as GED) preparation courses, computer skills classes or English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, occupational training and job skills certification.
