In June 2020, during the challenging times of COVID-19, we established the Emergency Fund for Immigrant Families (EFIF) to offer financial aid to those in our community who face hardship yet fall outside the scope of traditional assistance programs. This initiative, kick-started with a grant from United Way for Clinton County, has grown with the support of our community partners: The Farmers Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Zachary Confections, Community Foundation, and St. Matthew.
Initially focused on COVID-19 relief, the EFIF has since expanded its support to address a broader spectrum of challenges, including job loss, medical conditions, and immigration status adjustments among others. Our resources, however, are stretched thin by the overwhelming demand.
To tackle these challenges, we work closely with organizations like St. Vincent de Paul, Center Township, and Area IV. Our mission is guided by a coalition of five community organizations - Purdue Extension, Learning Network, Frankfort Lions Club, Frankfort Community Public Library, and Community Schools of Frankfort - meeting weekly to review and respond to assistance requests.
We invite you to join our cause. A yearly donation of just $52 to the EFIF can make a significant difference. And if you donate between February 1-29, 2024, your contribution will be matched by The Farmers Bank, doubling your impact.
Your support means more than just financial assistance; it symbolizes hope and community solidarity. Together, we can continue to provide a safety net for those in need.
Thank you for being a pillar of support in our community.
