With a little Help from my Friends

Mommy and Me has had lots of help from friends this year.

Carmel United Methodist Church Preschool has been taking collections every month to donate to the Mommy and Me Program. All the young moms and children received winter coats in October, toys in December and gently used clothing, bedding and basic necessities throughout the year.

Tri Kappa volunteers helped sort out and wrap the presents and hosted a Christmas party complete with a hot meal, and a surprise Santa at the end of the evening.

Other generous donations of jewelry and make up were appreciated by the moms.

Programs this year included, a parenting program called “Copy Cats” presented by Susan Tharp, A child safety program where we heard from Dr. Barnacle and Amanda Hart demonstrated the new shaken baby simulator. We will all remember this impressive visual image. We also had great cooking demonstration from Pat Burkhalter.
